All
persons applying to be a member of the off-leash dog park must abide by all Park
Rules and Regulations.
MEMBERSHIP
INFORMATION:
Cost:
$250 annually.
Second dog from the same household is
$50.
Membership fees are non-refundable.
Payment plans are available upon request and
scholarships are available to those who qualify.

Hours:
Dawn to Dusk.
Application
Process:
All dogs must be inoculated, neutered and social.
All applicants must attend a dog park membership
orientation and canine behavior workshop.

Temperament Evaluation:
All dogs temperaments are evaluated to determine social ability with dogs and
people.
Canine
Behavior Workshop:
All members attend a canine behavior workshop where behavior, body postures,
communication, and canine pack structure are discussed.

SAFETY
FOR THE PARK
Rules
promote good etiquette.
Disregard of any rule may result in a grievance
being
filed against any member.
Grievances will be reviewed by the Dogs for Life, Inc.
Board of Directors and may result in Membership being revoked.
RULES:
1.
Only pre-approved dogs may enter park.
Dogs must wear a buckle collar when in the park.
(No choker, spike or electronic collars)
2.
Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the
park.
3.
Dogs are not allowed to chase people.
4.
Members assume liability for any non-member person
invited to the park.
5.
Dogs are not allowed to dig.
If dogs do dig owners must immediately fill holes.
6.
Owners must clean up after their dogs and must
deposit waste in receptacles.
7.
Dogs over 6 months old must be neutered and, no
puppies under 4 months of age.
8.
If your dog acts aggressive, you must leash your dog
and immediately leave the park.
9. No dog can be in the park without an adult in
attendance.
No more than two dogs may be brought into the park
by any individual.
10. Do not leave the park gates open, watch for dogs so
that they do not escape from the fenced areas.
Owners
are responsible for ensuring that their dogs do not escape from fenced area.
11. No bicycles, skateboards, skaters, scooters or motorized devices - except
wheelchairs.
12. No food, alcohol, smoking, or glass containers and no sticks allowed in
park.
13. Children under 8 years of age are not to be brought into the park. At no
time should anyone run or chase dogs.
14. Park hours must be observed.
15. Members must treat each other and dogs with respect at
all times.
No threatening, rude or abusive behavior allowed.
16.
No toys allowed in the Park.

I, the undersigned, in consideration of enrollment to
participate in the “Best Friends” Off-Leash Dog Park hereby agree that I release
the 4-H Dog Master’s Club, Dogs for Life, Inc. Board of Directors or volunteers
and waive any right that I may have in the law to recover medical, property or
bodily injury damages for any liability regardless of cost, provided that
liability is due to ordinary negligence (this release does not contemplate
wanton, willful or malicious conduct) as a result of any injury I may sustain
from any other dog or my own dog(s), or any other personal property, upon the
property of the Dogs for Life, Inc. Dog Park..
I further agree and assume the risk for participating in
programs at the “Best Friends” off-leash dog park where there are dogs whose
temperament may be unpredictable.
I also assume full responsibility for any injury that may
occur to me, to my dog(s), or my property.
I waive any right that I may have to institute legal
proceedings to recover cost of any kind.
I have read this paper and am fully aware that this
contract constitutes a waiver and release of any injury to me, my dog(s), or
other property.

What is a Dog Park
In 1999, the IR Co. 4-H Dog Master’s Club selected an off-leash dog park as its
community service project.
Dogs for Life, Inc. is a private, non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c) (3)
organization.

Friends”

Mission
Statement
“A non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life for people
and dogs through training assistance and pet therapy dogs and owning an
off-leash dog park.”

Its purpose is to promote responsible pet ownership by providing a safe, clean
environment for dogs to exercise off leash and socialize with one another.

To provide educational workshops on dog behavior and dog obedience.

To be a model dog park for governmental organizations to emulate in our city,
county and even nationally.

operating and property maintenance cost are paid by annual membership fees and
donations.
